Program Overview

The Story
The head of the news department at W-A-C-K-Y TV is having a crisis. The only person left to cover a breaking news story is Vesta Gater, a rookie cub reporter. Her assignment is to investigate reports that a strange creature has been spotted in the community. As she investigates this mysterious creature, she meets with some of the local colorful characters to try to get some answers. From her friends, she learns all about electricity – where it comes from, how it makes our lives better, and how to use it safely. It's all a good lesson about electricity, but it doesn't have much to do with the creature... or does it?

The Players
Vesta Gater: A cub reporter for W-A-C-K-Y news. She is very eager to learn the newspaper business. She is also very smart (and at times can be a smart-aleck).
The Big Cheese: A disheveled and absent-minded newsman. Vesta's boss.
Mayor Maynot: The local mayor. He is very enthusiastic about two things- himself and people talking about him. He is very egotistical.
Gus: The local librarian. He acts more like a used car salesman or a superhero than a stereotypical librarian.
Ludwig: The local eccentric scientist. He might have a screw or two loose.
Shockzilla: The creature from another world.
