The Great Casey Smokes Out
Program Overview
The Story
"What a game this is!" shouts radio commentator
Sid Singlemen from the broadcaster's booth. It's high
drama on the field as the Bay City Bombers face their
arch rivals, the Mudville Nine. But not to worry; the
pride of Bay City is playing center field - The Great
Casey Kavanaugh! That is until she drops the ball. Since
Casey started smoking she can't run and play the way she
used to and now she's been kicked off the team. No smoking
allowed. It's up to Casey to quit smoking and learn about
the negative consequences of smoking cigarettes if she
wants to travel with the team to Mudville for the rematch.
The Players
Casey Kavanaugh: The greatest baseball player in
history. She is a bit of a tomboy. She loves being a baseball
player.
Sid Singlemen: Local sports writer and play by
play announcer for the Bay City Bombers. He could easily
be mistaken for Edward R. Murrow.
Coach: The manager of the Bay City Bombers. A gruff,
hard-nosed coach. Quite down to earth. Prone to give frequent
pep talks.
Peter Flynn: Or 'Roughhouse' as his friends call
him. Considers himself to be 'large and in charge.' He
is really only sure of two things, he hates fire and the
damage it can do and he loves his dog Stripe. Stripe is
just a stuffed animal but Peter doesn't realize it.
Stripe: A stuffed Dalmatian.
